Freaktography – Available for Photo Club Presentations, School Presentations, Library Seminars and More.
My Urban Exploration Photography photography club presentation is two hours of photos, stories, entertainment, humour and intrigue that has been called “the best presentation we have ever had” by many clubs I have presented to over the years. With a pre-baked break in the middle, plus time at the end for a Q&A, my presentation fits perfectly into the structure of any photography club weekly or monthly meetings.
My presentation opens with a few questions of the audience, followed by a brief video, a disclaimer and an and intro into how I got my start as an Urban Exploration Photographer. I take the audience through a number of specific locations I’ve explored along with the often entertaining stories of how I got in and what happened once inside. I even have a possible ghost sighting that I caught on camera.
Following the 15 minute break we launch right back in with a short video, followed by a breakdown of what gear I use and then some tips and things to consider when photographing abandoned places.
I also customize every presentation with a selection of abandoned locations I have explored and photographed in the region/area of your specific club.
My presentation has been a proven hit with photo clubs and can also be applied to school presentations or local library/club seminars.

Below are some testimonials and emails I have received from past photo club presentation and from participants
The Chatham Camera Club had Dave speak at one of our meetings about photographing typically off limits locations. Dave shared stories from a wide array of locations he has photographed. He talked about how he gained access, the photography equipment he used, the unusual things he found inside and the history of some of the locations. Dave is a great story teller and he has a lot of interesting stories to tell! Although many of our club members are unlikely to embark on photographing these locations, many commented on how fascinating they found the presentation. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us, Dave!

I just thought I’d drop you a line to let you know that your presentation was well received on Monday night. Nothing but great comments. I have to admit that you’ll be a hard act to follow. Your subject matter and photography is so unique and paired with your personality and sense of humor drew the audience in. I can’t remember having such a large attendance to one of our meetings.

Thanks again for last week’s presentation at our GRIPS season opener. We’ve received some positive feedback from our Members…just having most of our Members stay seated past 10 pm, is indicative that they were interested in what you had to deliver!
– Great use of video, as well as slideshow of images. Your Sound of Silence Video is absolutely incredible – great selection of images.
– Sense of Humour – even though some images could be interpreted as dark, your sense of humour and funny stories were very well received by the Members.
Overall, very well done! You absolutely delivered in what I was hoping would be a different kind of season opener for GRIPS!

I just wanted to thank you for a fantastic evening. Your presentation certainly started our year off well. Although, for a moment I was having visions of having to bail our members out of jail…lol.
It’s a very good thing when we still have full attendance right to the end of a presentation.Fantastic work, fantastic ideas and presentation.
Thanks again – President, Grand River Imaging & Photographic Society (GRIPS)

If you ever get the opportunity to see Dave’s presentation make sure you go! He is a great speaker, very entertaining and his work speaks for itself. I was fortunate enough to see Freaktography “Live” at my photography club recently (Trillium Photography Club in Burlington). Dave has an easy air about him his modesty, enthusiasm and stories of his explorations, make for a very entertaining/educational evening. Two thumbs up!

Hey Dave,
Just wanted to let you know that you were one of the most engaging speakers GRIPS has had in a long time. I was actually close to not signing up again this year changed my mind when I saw they had you scheduled to speak. Your stories were fascinating and your photos were incredible.
Thanks for coming to show us what you do and love.
