Eerie Abandoned Farmhouse in Southwestern Ontario

Discovering a Forgotten Rural House

During a summer drive through southwestern Ontario, I stumbled upon this abandoned farmhouse near Pelee Island. Hidden behind thick overgrowth, its white wooden siding was peeling, windows shattered, and the air around it felt heavy with silence.

Inside, every door had been removed — either leaning against the walls or lying on the floor. The interior was dark and cold, a haunting reminder of years left untouched. Outside, nature has begun reclaiming the property, with overgrown plants wrapping around forgotten corners.

Exploring places like this uncovers untold stories and the quiet passage of time. Although no historical records could be found for this house, its atmosphere speaks volumes. This abandoned farmhouse is part of my ongoing work documenting forgotten homes, decaying architecture, and eerie landscapes across Canada.
