ABANDONED MANSION Heritage Mansion Built in 1838
This vacant and run down building was built in 1838 for the mayor of the city.
The house was built on twelve acres of land in an area known as the fashionable place for a gentleman of means to reside.
After the First World War, the house was used as a hospital for returned soldiers.
In 1919 it served as the district military headquarters until 1968.
This building is designated as a federal heritage property and it is one of the finest examples of Picturesque Regency architecture in Canada.
