This long-abandoned church was briefly featured in the DC Universe Movie Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016.

This is my last of 3 visits here, 1st in 2013 and again in 2016, this visit was 7 years to the day of my 2016 visit.

The Woodward Avenue Presbyterian Church, also known as St. Curvy Church, is a historic church located at 8501 Woodward Avenue in Detroit, Michigan. It was designed by architect Sidney Rose Badgley and completed in 1911.

The church is an example of Gothic Revival architecture and features intricate stonework, stained glass windows, and a tall spire.

Throughout its history, the Woodward Avenue Presbyterian Church played an important role in the religious and social life of Detroit.

It was known for its vibrant congregation and active community outreach programs.

However, the church faced challenges in the latter half of the 20th century, as Detroit experienced economic decline and population loss.

The congregation dwindled, and the building eventually fell into disrepair. Due to financial difficulties, the Woodward Avenue Presbyterian Church was closed in 2005.

Since then, it has been left vacant and has suffered from neglect. The building has faced issues such as roof leaks, vandalism, and decay.

Despite its abandonment, the church remains an architectural gem and a notable landmark along Woodward Avenue.

Efforts have been made by various organizations and individuals to preserve and restore the Woodward Avenue Presbyterian Church.

There have been discussions about potential redevelopment plans, but as of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, no significant restoration or adaptive reuse project had been finalized.
