Draining Photography

Draining photography shows how adventurers and urban explorers use these complex or simple drain systems as a playground for adventure and photography. Below every city runs a system of drains and sewers designed to carry storm water away from the city and out to the closest body of water.

Yesterday morning RiddimRyder and I headed out in the blistering cold, dressed in layers upon layers and made our way deep into a drain that I’ve been waiting to check out.

Gargantua Drain Toronto – 2018

Recently, I had a friend visiting from the US and we spent three nights exploring all kinds of locations across the area.

We explored three drains/sewers, one of them being the one known as GARGANTUA, it is the largest storm drain in Toronto.

It is a very very long walk along a quite boring rectangular drain with very little to see along the way. However after about a 45 minute walk you are finally met with a massive transition to 4 metre diameter circular drain and two small waterfalls.

Further along there was much more to see, however we had more places to visit so we enjoyed the 1st transition and made our way back.
