Abandoned Factory with a Dry Room
This was a super unique find by friends Mike Heinhold and Trevor Denman, these baskets were used instead of lockers by factory workers to place belongings in during/between shifts.
I’ve also read that they were used for wet/damp clothing, at the end of a shift the workers would place their wet/damp clothes in the baskets, raise them to the ceiling and by the time they returned for their next shift, the clothes would be dry.
The rest of the factory was just a burnt-out shell, but this room alone was worth the visit!
So, this room is called a “Dry” and my initial caption was mostly correct, which was:
“These baskets were used instead of lockers by factory workers to place belongings in during/between shifts.

I got a comment on the video from someone named Bob Reynolds, with experience with one of these rooms, he said:
“Years ago, I worked as a miner. This room was called a “Dry”.
You hung your wet smelly gear, boots, hat and all and hoisted it up to the ceiling. Several large heaters blasted constantly. Some guys rarely washed their gear, was considered bad luck. The smell in these Drys was phenomenal, way past BO or stinkfoot. More akin to cheese”
