A phenomenal and exceptional Mid Century Abandoned House in Ontario Canada.
This mid century abandoned house is very simple from the outside and one would never imagine what is left behind on the inside.

This is so sad 🙁
Was this a model home? It looks unlived in, despite the photos and awesome furniture.
What a neat house…I love it.
I think the family just “abandoned” their house to run to the market, or go to work, and were planning on returning at the end of the day. lol
They left alot of photos behind – so why haven’t they found who the house belonged to and searched for answers as to what happened to the people? They should be able to do research easily with all the options there are today. Maybe a crime was committed and these people were murdered and no one even bothered to look for them. Someone somewhere knows about this and I think the proper authorities should already be investigating it. 🙁
I can’t help but wonder why it was all abandoned. I hope nothing happened to the family…I can’t think of why they would leave all of the photos and belongings.
I agree with you Ivan, I think all the homes that they show on here have to been model homes on a lot somewhere, with all the hatred in the world, if these homes where on some neighborhood street they would have been completely ransacked with no booze left if them at all, let alone anything else. I love to look at them all but still tell the truth of where the home is.
They may have been planning on returning but I am thinking they may have met with an abrupt end – of their lives!
Amazing to see a home in this condition of this era – a museum piece!
What do you think happened that caused this to be abandoned? It’s just unfathomable that someone would just leave everything they owned.
For being empty for so long it is amazing there is no dust on the shelves, it almost appears to be staged?
I believe the people were abducted by ALIENS!!! eeeekkkkkkkkk!!! lol
I live in Ontario… Where is this house? It’s great!!
This is a beautiful home… However i have to agree with John.. There us no dust or webs nothing of a nature to prove it had actually been abandon… If it had be wouldn’t you thunk it would have all the ” abandon for years” look?
Hopefully someone will recognise the photos. This is so sad. hugs
I wish there was a picture of the outside.
I tend to think that the people who lived in this house raised their kids there and the kids moved a distance away leaving the parents alone…and then perhaps one of them passed away leaving only one elderly person living there…then that person fell ill and was taken to hospital or to a nursing home and then passed away as well…perhaps there were no close living relatives or any relatives that lived close by so the house just stood alone all these years…Maybe the house was put into foreclosure…I’m sure that the government took possession at some point for unpaid property taxes but just put it on the back burner because of the out in the middle of nowhere location?…at least that’s my take on it 😉
I just love the house, it’s gorgeous!!!
These were amazing shots of each room, and I can’t believe that the house is haunted, because it looks like any average abandoned home anywhere!
I love the Pics, however I am a bit skeptical about the fact that it was suppose to be abandoned. There is no dust at all in this ole house, and logically there should be dust everywhere.
Not hating just wondering that’s all. Non the less I love the photography !

There is an abandoned home like this near me in California. The family had just moved in when their son was killed in a motorcycle accident on his way home. This happened in the 60’s and they left and never returned. Literally walked out. Dishes in the kitchen. Rolls of shag carpet in the middle of being installed. Beds unmade. They refused to sell the property. So it has sat untouched for all these years. The fire dept. checks on it periodically, watching for a fire hazard. So, yes, this does happen and not “staged”.
did you ever think it haunted, and they left things and just ran maybe in the middle of the night, I don’t know,
? lived there & by looks of furniture there a very long time so parents prob aged out roof prob leaking & couldn’t care it so they were put in nursing homes & only take so much w you & kids might not have got along & didn’t want take things left behind & sure there’ land records or neighbors lived in area that could shed light, where I’d start
I’m calling “BS” on this. Those liquor bottles are fairly new. The Peachtree has a plastic cap and the wine bottle on the left has an aluminium cap. Both are safety caps. The little bottle of Bailey’s wouldn’t even have existed back then.
The Canadian Club bottle also has a plastic safety cap. It would have had a cork back then. There also wouldn’t be alcohol percentages printed on the face labels. Never believe anything you hear and only half of what you see.
There is dust on the shelves and gaps where you d expect to see photos. There are no photos of the kids as adults or grand children and the photos shown are from the earlier part of the century. I also couldnt see any personal items ie toiletries of any kind or clothes. Personally i believe this house belonged to an elderly man who may have passed on in a nursing home and had no living relatives. So sad.
Where abouts in Ontario is this?
I’d say the liquor bottles are from the 1990s. Not sure how that makes this a BS story though, as the resident(s) could have abandoned it in then.
Can’t believe all the BS about staging. The house is mid 50s, not the time of abandonment. They built the house in the mid 50s and died in the early 2000s That doesn’t make it fake or staged. Love the photos. Love the great job you always do. Keep them coming. You are my escape from reality,
The labels on the liquor bottles and headphones date the abandonment to no earlier than mid 80’s perhaps as late as early 90s. Interesting how few items are as recent as that. These people were probably quite old.
Where in Ontario is this? I live in Ontario
Whats funny is my wife has the same blonde bedroom set and she needs the dresser that is in the house to complete it, we are missing it!
Pertaining to what someone else said, just because things look “new” does not mean it’s staged. When I was a kid in the 1970s, my late grandfather and I did an exploration of a home dating from the late 1800s that was behind his home and abandoned for decades. He knew the man who was a widower but he had passed some 20 years prior and the children never did anything with it. The home, a nice Victorian two story one, just sat. I remember seeing dishes, canned food and bottled items, clothes, and mail and paperwork strewn all over the place likely from scavengers. However, it was not full of cobwebs and dust like you see in the movies. And this was in the Southern United States (Alabama to be specific). That was my first experience as a kid in urban exploration and I’ll never forget it. Point being: don’t always assume something is the way things are in reality just because of photos and movies you’ve seen. The good news about that home is that it was bought and relocated elsewhere in the 1980s as a bed and breakfast establishment.
That pole lamp is pretty cool
A parent dies, the other needs immediate and long term care, now gone. A daughter or friend of the family does a quick cleaning once in a while. They put off cleaning out the house and the years slip by. Those daughters all have to get along well in order to agree on disposal of the property. Not such a strange or rare story after all.
