Thursday April 6th, 2018 – The night I got to shoot my first concert, something I’d had no experience with, something I have always wanted to try and I finally got that opportunity.
Bell Canada was launching a new high speed internet service and to announce this new product they threw a free concert and party at Yonge and Dundas Square in Toronto, Ontario. The entertainment for the night was Canadian talent The Arkells & City and Colour.
I had a great time playing with the crowd and photographing them as they anticipated the start of the show, and shooting the bands was a blast. It was like a dance, moving around with the other photographers and video camera crews, everyone seemed to show respect to one another, not getting in each other’s way and allowing everyone to have the space they needed.
This small show gave me a taste of what concert photography is like, and I may just look into doing this some more!
