Back in the Day – Soul Intent was an American hip hop group from Detroit, Michigan.

They were formed as Bassmint Productions in 1989 before the name was changed to Soul Intent in 1992. Soul Intent consisted of producer Manix; DJ Butter Fingers; and emcees M&M (Eminem), Chaos Kid and Maximum (Proof).

The group disbanded in late 1995. These photos were taken in 1992 for their “Still in the Bassment” EP in Warren, MI.

As we all know, 7 years after these photos were taken, everything changed for Marshall Mathers III as he signed with Dr Dre and took over the hip hop and mainstream airwaves with The Slim Shady LP – and the rest is History!
