This photo of a pre-fame lady gaga in the meat packing district of new york city was captured by Brooklyn based photographer Geordie Wood.

On August 21st of 2008, Geordie was in the meat packing district shooting street style scenes for style.com. He spotted a stylish blonde girl shopping with her mother when he asked if he could capture a few photos of her.

After taking three frames he asked for her info and in a very serious tone she responded:

“I am Lady Gaga – a singer/songwriter.”

What Geordie didn’t know was that lady Gaga, unknown at the time, dropped her debut album “The fame” just 2 days prior, just a few months after this photo was taken, Poker Face was the number one selling single in the world.
